what are japanese bobtails and why should you want one?

Japanese bobtails are known for their playful and attentive behavior, they are a cat that acts like a dog and looks like a bunny.

There are no known abnormalities associated with their distinctive tail. They are a sturdy, natural breed with no specific health concerns.

Every cat’s bobtail is as unique as a fingerprint and is bobbed due to a dominant gene and not the result of any cropping.

Affectionate and excellent for family living and have grown up with dogs. They thrive best in an interactive home.

Bobtails should have a tail no longer than 3 inches from their body, fine boning, long legs with deep angulation, large upright ears coming right off their equilateral triangle shaped head, with large expressive eyes that appear oval but at a noticeable slant.

They are a single coat breed with minimal shedding and grooming needs. Shorthairs need an occasional bath and combing a few times a month, long hairs require more combing but their coat does not mat or tangle. For best, show quality coats, blow drying is recommended.

how i started and some helpful people and products along the way

My name is MaSharra, you can call me mash. Four years ago a friend asked if I wanted to go to a cat show. That’s how this all started for me. Karen picked us out of the crowd and asked me to run her Japanese bobtails to the next ring, BB and Benson. This picture was taken that day and I haven’t stopped.

We are based out of Portland, Oregon. Karen and I started our breeding program and have been blessed by some amazing champion cats. If you want to stop by and meet us at the next regional cat show, we’d love to show you around!
